For Children

Mission Statement

Our purpose in Children’s Ministries is to develop fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We provide a safe environment where children can enjoy loving relationships and valuable learning from birth through 6th grade.

It’s our goal to make the Bible come alive in fun, exciting ways, and to partner with parents as their children embark on their spiritual journeys.

Safe and Secure

All volunteers in children’s ministries must complete the Cedar Grove volunteer application process and receive approval from the staff. We currently use Church Volunteer Central to run background checks on all of our volunteers. With this organization’s up-to-date, quick reporting, you can rest assured that your child’s safety will never be in question.

Training Station

This is our ministry to your precious infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Your child will take his/her first steps on a journey to meet Jesus Christ. We work with Gospel Light curriculum to present basic biblical principles and their applications to life at appropriate age levels. Learning to become better citizens of God’s Kingdom is a main theme, as well as learning how to treat our friends, share, and be kind to each other.

Elementary

9 am Children’s Church is a Bible-based, action-packed program that creatively introduces children to God through the guidance of caring adults and teens. Through a program of songs, Bible lessons, scripture memorization, games, crafts and activities, children discover God’s love. All the fun happens at 9 am on Sunday mornings during the school year

10:45 am Sunday School teaches basic biblical principles, with salvation and Christian growth as ongoing themes in our small group Sunday School classes. Solid curriculum utilizes a 2-year rotation of Old and New Testament Bible stories and life applications. Over the course of six years, your child will go completely through the Bible three times. Join the excitement!

Powerhouse Six (at 10:45 am) is our program for sixth-graders. This is a pre-teen ministry that is designed to transition kids from Children’s Ministry to Youth Ministry. These high-energy, awkward, shy one minute, outgoing the next, unpredictable and often hard-to-understand young people require a special kind of ministry that helps them make the difficult transition from childhood to adolescence.

Summer Events

Summer Sunday School is a fun-filled summer program for kids who will enter grades 1-6. Each summer, we choose a different theme to complement our Vacation Bible School and Jr. Camp curricula. Through revolving stations, kids get the chance to hear Bible stories, memorize Scripture, play active games, make fun crafts, participate in lively music, and learn through a series of “celebrity” studded skits.

Vacation Bible School is an exciting week designed for kids entering Kindergarten through 5th grade. Each year in mid-June, VBS is the place to be as we learn about God in a dynamic and fun atmosphere that involves Bible stories, games, crafts, skits and rockin’ music.

Junior Camp for kids entering grades 3-6 has become a summer favorite for our grade-schoolers. We spend a week at Silver Creek Camp in Tuolumne, California, in a camp completely designed by, staffed by, and run by Cedar Grove. Each summer, we look forward to a high impact week with a fun theme, great speakers, active group games, and awesome music by our own “Pink Flamingos.”
