Serve Our Community

Cedar Grove is committed to reaching, teaching and releasing disciples of Jesus.  To that end, we partner with a variety of agencies and organizations which share the same mindset in order to impact the greater Livermore area and the world with the love of Jesus Christ. We support ministries which pursue evangelism & discipleship, leadership development, and compassion aid.

Below are links to missionaries and organizations we support which focus on compassion aid.

CityServe

City Serve cares for people in crisis. We coordinate resources and volunteers between the faith-based community, non-profits, schools, businesses, and government agencies. We also connect volunteers in the local church and community to the non-profits in our Tri-Valley.

The Livermore Homeless Refuge

The Livermore Homeless Refuge was created to provide a warm, safe, clean environment for individual homeless people to stay overnight. It uses faith based communities as its base to house this segment of our society. These faith-based communities allow us to provide this service to homeless individuals at a minimal cost. It does not segregate on the basis of race, creed, color, religion or lack of religion.

Livermore Pregnancy Resource Center

The Livermore Pregnancy Resource Center (LRPC) is committed to assisting women facing needs due to an unplanned pregnancy. We understand that facing an unplanned pregnancy involves many difficult decisions. Factual information, paired with thoughtful consideration, is necessary in order to make an informed and responsible decision.

Open Heart Kitchen

Open Heart Kitchen is the largest hot meal program of its kind in the Tri-Valley Area of Northern California. We feed the hungry every weekday at multiple locations in Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin, California. There is no qualifying process and meals may be eaten at our multiple serving sites or taken to go.

Founded in 1995 as an interfaith effort, Open Heart Kitchen serves more than 300,000 meals annually. In 2016 we surpassed that record and served over 345,000 meals.

Our guests come from all walks of life: We’re here to help our neighbors in need during challenging times. Open Heart Kitchen serves as their safety net.

We work in cooperation with more than a dozen local food pantries and various Tri-Valley non-profits whose missions promote nutrition and hunger relief.

Shepherd’s Gate

Shepherd’s Gate isn’t a shelter: it’s a safe haven.

Our 2 campuses, located in Livermore and Brentwood, provide long-term, comprehensive care to some of California’s most vulnerable people: women and children experiencing homelessness due to poverty, addiction, domestic violence, and other threats.

We know it takes far more than a hot meal and a bed for the night to truly break free. It takes love, it takes time, and it takes practical support.

Valley Pregnancy Center

The Valley Pregnancy Center started in 1988 as a way to offer a safe and caring place where women facing an unplanned, unexpected or crisis pregnancy could find confidential information about all of the options available to her.

Our goal was then and remains today to empower women, to help them understand they are not alone and need not feel rushed in making a decision. Her decision is not for others, but needs to reflect what she truly believes is best for her.
